The Judge

He heard,
He listened.
Defendant and plaintiff
Equally.

He listened carefully,
He observed keenly.
In silence-
He smiled,
He laughed.
In silence-
He mourned,
He wept.
But he kept listening.
His heart beats
In tandem with
That of
Wounded and killer
Equally.

When hearing
Was done-
He left chair
Went inside
And cried much.
Pain of emotion
Broke his heart.
He restrained himself.

He got back to chair
He looked at the convict
He kept looking at.
His lips moved
But could not speak.
He tried again
But failed again.
What a pain
To be a judge!
He had to!
He had to!
He tried again,
He did it!
He did it this time!
“In name of God
I sentence you
To Death”!
He whimpered
He cried and
He broke down!
